How We Plan To Use Plinth
Plinth is being used all over the country in different ways, Inspire decided to use Plinth at a local infrastructure level which meant we could connect all these organisations together into a South Tyneside Community Page, so we could see the whole picture of what was happening in the Borough and further down the line it enables us to look more into the impact data that’s being collected in more detail, especially on referral pathways. But, perhaps most importantly, we think it’s starting to change the power dynamics between the sector and our public sector partners.
We can now come to them with clear evidence and data for the impact of the sector, and can speak with a collective voice.
Why We Chose Plinth?
In South Tyneside we have a really strong voluntary sector with lots of different community groups supporting people but we realised how many of our residents, health sector and local authority are not aware of all the amazing groups South Tyneside has to offer. Plinth gave us the platform to create a one stop shop for volunteering opportunities and community activities, with everything in one place we hope all of South Tyneside’s voluntary sector will have a platform to showcase their work.
What Plinth can do:
– Connect the VCSE
– Help the community engage in the voluntary sector
– Encourage volunteering
– Promote all different types of groups
– Build insight into community needs
Inspire will use plinth to support our local groups to work together, and to share information about the work the sector is doing with residents, the local authority and statutory partners. Residents can book an appointment with Inspire to go through Plinth whether that be volunteering opportunities or the community page.
