Let’s Celebrate Volunteering!

July 4, 2019, 10:27 am

A fantastic event celebrating another very successful year for volunteering.

Volunteers from 35 voluntary organisations partied the afternoon away at The Hedworth Hall, in South Shields on Monday 3rd of June 2019 to kick start National Volunteer Week.

There was dancing, thanks to music played by a range of artists from The Idea Project, excellent food, a raffle, and a great opportunity to chat and meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Just a few of the many great comments received from volunteers:

“fantastic celebration”, “Ray Spencer going around tables to thank groups was a nice touch”, “Makes you realise how important you are”, “To be valued is great”, “First time invited, hope to come again”.

The event was organised by the South Tyneside Volunteer Coordinators to thank volunteers for making our community a better place to live.
#Love South Tyneside.

We would like to thank all those who helped to organise the day, and especially Sir James Knott Trust, Barbour Foundation, Hedworth Hall, Morrisons, Dicksons and the volunteer coordintors sub group for their support in making the event a huge success.
